Bernice Geouge

Bernice Gouge Geouge, age 70, of Pitman Road, the Penland Community passed away Tuesday, July 22,, 2014 at her residence.Born on January 27, 1944 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Lee and Marcella Sparks Gouge. She was also preceded in death by her brother Allen Duncan. Bernice enjoyed any time she got to spend in the out doors and crocheting. She was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church.Left to cherish her memories are her husband; Phillip Geouge of Spruce Pine, a son; Harold Van Grindstaff and wife Sissy of Marion, a daughter; Kristy Griggs and husband Randy of Burnsville, brothers; Ray Gouge and wife Dawn of Spruce Pine, Henry “Duck” Gouge of Newton, NC, Donald Gouge and wife Kitty of Nebo, Carl Gouge of Marion, Kenneth Duncan and wife Sandy of Morganton and Keith Duncan and wife Rhonda of Morganton, sisters; Irene Henson and husband Bob of Bakersville, Ilene Burleson and husband Rusty of Bakersville and Carol Robinson and husband Jeff of Bakersville, grandchildren; Samuel and Sarah Grindstaff, Heaven Friesland and A.J. and Kaeleigh Griggs and two great grandchildren.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Bernice Geouge at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Rathbone officiating. Interment will follow at the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
