Betty Biddix, age 76, of Bell Street in Spruce Pine died Friday, December 22, 2017 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine.Born on March 29, 1941 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Celia Twiggs Wilcox. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Biddix who passed away in 2001. She was also preceded in death by a brother, David Wilcox; a sister, Madge Biddix; and a brothers-in-law, Boyd Biddix, Charlie Carpenter, Jay and Gene Buchanan.Betty was a lifelong member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and particularly enjoyed reading the Bible. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking road trips with her best friend, Lou and she also enjoyed canning.Left to cherish her memories are her son; Johnny Biddix and wife, Penny of Spruce Pine; her daughter; Deloris Biddix Braswell of Spruce Pine; her sisters; Linda Carpenter of Spruce Pine and Sarah and Sue Buchanan both of Bakersville; her grandchildren; Natasha Braswell; Brandon Braswell and wife, Robyn; Anthony Braswell and wife, Angela; Samantha Braswell; Daniel Biddix and wife, Kelsie; Lee Biddix; and Elizabeth Ramos and husband, Allan; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Betty Biddix on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Berry Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Steve Williams, Greg Hollifield, and David Wilcox officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 11:00 am until the service hour at the church.
