Bill Conley, age 79, of Gage Branch Road in Bakersville, died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Brian Center Health and Rehab.Born on July 1, 1937 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Charles and Florence Davis Conley. Bill was retired from the telecommunications department of Mitchell County. He also worked as a bus driver and the U.S.D.A. delivering food to the Mitchell County schools.Bill loved his grandchildren and was an avid sports fan. He particularly was an avid Washington Redskins, New York Yankees, and Wake Forest fan. He also enjoyed traveling and never met a stranger.Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Shirley Burleson Conley of Spruce Pine; his son; Rev. Kevin Conley and wife, Bernadette of Winston-Salem; his grandchildren; Kayla, Tristen, and Zachary Conley all of Winston-Salem; his brother; Jerry Conley of Bakersville and a host of friends.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Bill Conley on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev’s. Kevin Conley and Joe Bennett officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 11:00 am until the service hour in the funeral home chapel. We Love your Tribute Video , Both I and my Wife had Tears in our Eyes . We use to live on Cane Creek Rd from 1998 to 2000 before my Mom died . I think we met Bill in Church but my memory is very poor now a days . I pray when its my time to be in Heaven that I will be lucky to meet Bill Conley ,, GOD Bless !
