Carl Nelson

Carl Nelson, age 92, of Dula Road in Spruce Pine, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at his home.Born on August 2, 1925 in Swain County, he was the son of the late Sidney and Addie Lockman Nelson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Enloe Nelson. He was retired from the Merchant Marines.Carl will be remembered as a good Christian man with great Christian values that he upheld all of the time. He loved his family and was a devoted husband and hero to his grandchildren with an award winning smile. He was an active person that was always helping other people and a good neighbor. He enjoyed being outdoors and cattle farming.Survivors include his daughter; Elaine McLean and husband, Clyde of Seven Devils, NC, granddaughters; Angela Stiller of Salisbury, NC, Melissa ‘Missy’ Campbell and fiancé’ Todd Hooper of Raleigh, NC, step granddaughter; Cammy Duncan and husband, Eric of Gastonia, NC; great grandsons; Lane Campbell, Keegan Campbell, Jackson Stiller and Christian Heath; and great granddaughter; Savannah Duncan.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the graveside service honoring the life of Carl Nelson on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Pisgah View Cemetery with the Rev.
