David Casey McKinney, age 58, of Halltown Road in Spruce Pine died Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Memorial campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.Born on November 28, 1959 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late David L. McKinney and Margaret Gaddy McKinney. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, David Hunter McKinney.David lived life to the fullest. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed being with people and loved to laugh. He was a talented person and enjoyed gardening. He loved fishing and hunting; dogs and riding horses.Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Louise McKinney of the home; his brother; Mike McKinney and wife, Vanessa of Maggie Valley and his twin brother; Daniel McKinney and wife, Susie of Spruce Pine; his sisters; Rebecca Ann Teague and husband, Bobby of Spruce Pine and Julia Ollis and husband, Ray of Hickory; his step-sons; Ross and Ryan Hunley of Marion; his god son; Andrew McKinney of Pennsylvania; his god daughter; Kaitlyn Lovelace of Spruce Pine; his mother-in-law; Eva Mae Hogan of Marion; five nieces; four great nephews; two great nieces.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of David McKinney on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Grassy Creek Presbyterian Church with the Rev’s. Jim Taylor and Bobby Justice officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church.
