Dorothy Inez Smith Stamey, age 86, of Louis Drive in Spruce Pine died Friday, April 17, 2015 at her home.Born on October 7, 1928 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Will and Mary Lee Willis Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Louis Stamey who passed away in 1992. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Andrew and Albert Smith and her sister; Frances Allison.Left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Wanda Buchanan and husband, Richard of Spruce Pine and Nancy Haga and husband, Darwin of Gallatin, TN; her sons; Marvin W. Stamey and wife, Kathy of Spruce Pine and Rev. Morris Stamey and wife, Frances of Spruce Pine; her sister; Myrtle Craig of Marion; her brothers; Charles Smith of Marion; William Edward Smith of Charlotte and Richard Smith of Hickory; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service celebrating the life of Dorothy Inez Stamey on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Greene officiating. Interment will be in the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
