Gracie Street

Grace Rector Street, age 83, of Vaughn Lane in Spruce Pine, died Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine.Born on March 9, 1932 in Burke County, she was the daughter of the late Kelly and Vergie Settlemyer Rector. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christy Smith and a great grandson, James Bradshaw.Gracie was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was employed by the Mitchell County CAP program. Gracie loved to fish, loved her flowers, and traveling. She never met a stranger and was a hard worker. She was dedicated to her family, her patients, and her church.Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Floyd Street of Spruce Pine; her son; William ‘Bill’ Bradshaw and wife, Edith of Valdese; her daughters; Vickie B. Deal and husband, Gerald of Conover; and Debra B. Richards and husband, Charles of Gastonia; her grandchildren; Kelly Page and husband, Dale, Kim Phillips, Bo Bradshaw, Charles Richards, Jr., and Jason Richards; her great grandchildren; Brittany Page and Jesse Bradshaw; and her great great granddaughter; Amelia Bradshaw.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence for the funeral service honoring the life of Gracie Street on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 12:30 pm at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Doug Willis, Dr. Darrin Waldroup, and Rev. Brent Duncan officiating. Interment will be in the Burke Memorial Park.
