Jason Woody

Jason Woody, age 73, of West Mountain Drive in Spruce Pine, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.Jason was born on August 29, 1941 in Mitchell County and was the son of the late Nellie Triplett Woody and Mallie Woody, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Tolley Woody who passed away in 2000. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mallie Woody, Jr. and a sister, Orla Pendley. He was retired from Burleson Plumbing and Heating.Left to cherish his memories are his daughter; Debbie Gunter of Asheville; his grandchildren; Bud Gouge and wife, Megan of Hickory, Jesse Gunter of Hickory, and Rachel Shelton and husband, Nick of Mars Hill; his great grandson; Nicholas Shelton of Mars Hill; his brother; Ruben Woody of Spruce Pine; and his finance’ of ten years; Arlene Huskins of Spruce Pine.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Jason Woody on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathan Silver officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. A time to receive friends, share memories and support the family will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Mt.
