Jeanette Woody

Jeanette Woody, age 91, of Altapass Road in Spruce Pine, died Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine.Born on December 26, 1925 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Milas and Corrie Harrison Woody. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters; Faye Woody, Lizzie Woody, and Winnie Hall and her brother; Russell Woody.Jeanette was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church and served as the church treasurer for thirty-five years. She sang in the church choir and also sang in a quartet. She loved the Lord and her church family. She will be remembered as a great cook and loved gardening, cooking, canning and quilting.Left to cherish her memories are her brother; John Woody and wife, Willa Mae of Overland Park, KS; her nephews; Marvin Woody, William Hall, Wendell Hall, and Jimmy Woody. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Jeanette Woody on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Berry Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Steve Williams and Greg Hollifield officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 10:00 am until the service hour at the church.
