Johnnie Calvin Lowery, age 61, of Loop Road in Spruce Pine, died Friday June 26, 2015 at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation Center in Spruce Pine.Born on June 12, 1954 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late James Arnold Lowery and Thelma Ruth Hall Lowery. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Debra “Doot” Harkins.Johnnie loved to go fishing and tinkering with cars. He was a Christian man that attended Crabtree Baptist Church and was a loving Paw Paw to his grandchildren.He is survived by his wife Judy Katherine Stafford Lowery, his mother; Thelma Ruth Lowery, sons; Scotty Lowery and wife Jenny and Dewayne Lowery of Spruce Pine, a daughter; Stephanie Hughes and husband James of Avery County, a brother; Ronnie Lowery and wife Pat of Marion, sisters; Betty Vance of Cherryville, NC, Carolene Ward, Lillian Vaughn and Cynthia Hollifield all of Spruce Pine, and grandchildren; Britney Hughes, Austin Ledford, Harley Hughes, Rylie Hughes, Haley Hughes, Autumn Lowery and Lochlen “Bubbie” Lowery.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Johnnie C. Lowery on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 5:00 pm at the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev’s. Fred Proctor and Dallas Renfro officiating. Interment will follow in the Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
