It was with great sadness that I read that both Anna Lee and Lewis Jarrett left this world. I loved them both dearly, it was my pleasure to work with Lewis and to know sweet Anna Lee! Special, special people!

I am so sorry for your great loss, Kathy. Your dad and your mom were caring and outgoing people who touched the lives of many, including mine. I well remember them hosting fun activities at their home for the youth of Grassy Creek Baptist Church, and I enjoyed being around them in my adult years. May God comfort you as you make this life transition, and may sweet memories comfort you.

I just found out yesterday that Lewis died last Friday and his funeral was this past Monday. I can't believe that I heard about it all too late. Had I known I certainly would have attended the service and paid my condolences to the family. I considered him a dear friend and was incredibly blessed to serve as a pastor to him and Anna Lee when I was at Ledger. I thought the world of them both, and they did as much or more for me personally than any members I've ever had at any church. Our friendship continued even after I left Ledger, but I didn't see them nearly as much. The last time I spoke with Lewis was when he came by my house and gave me some tickets to this years' Kiwanis Fish Fry. He did that every year when the Fish Fry came around. Before that I had called him this past April when his beloved Duke Blue Devils won the NCAA title. He was such a dear man, one of my all-time favorite people. The world is a lesser place without him. When my son Ryan won a Kiwanis scholarship recently, Lewis was there at the steak house when the award was handed out. He told Ryan, "I think a lot of your dad." Well, the feeling was certainly mutual. I know that we'll all miss him but those of us who know Christ have the unshakable promise that we will see him again one day in glory. I look forward to that. But in the meantime, family, just know that you'll be in prayers and if I can ever do anything for you don't hesitate to let me know. God bless you.
We went to church with Lewis. He was so kind and gentle. He will be truly be missed. It is comforting to know that we will see him again on the other side.
Kathy, I am sorry about your Dad passing away. I will always remember him as my favorite uncle. I loved visiting you and your parents in the summertime. Uncle Lewis was always kind and loving to us. He always had a smile and had fun with us. He will be missed greatly and I am so glad he was my uncle. Now he's in heaven, digging potatoes from the garden and waiting for your Mom's yeast rolls come out of the oven. I loved both your parents very much and I'm so glad they were such a big part of my life. So sorry I can't come to the funeral but I know you understand. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Eubert. Love, Marsha and Kim
Kathy, I don't know if you remember me from but I was involved in the care of your mom and dad a couple of years ago. I also knew both of them from the Kiwanas club. They were both wonderful people and I know you will miss him greatly. Knowing them-and you was a joy! God bless you and grant you grace and peace through this time of sadness.
