Mary Juanita Ledford

Mary Juanita Ledford, age 79, of Franklintown Road in Spruce Pine, died Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.Born on May 18, 1936 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Estes and Helen Riddle Pitman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in by her first husband, Ralph Ledford; a son, Gary Ledford; a brother, Thad Riddle; and a sister, Martha Cox.Juanita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that was all about her family. She was the glue that held her family together. She had a great sense of humor, was a great cook, and an avid reader.Left to cherish her memories are her husband of fifty-five years; Joe Ledford of Spruce Pine; her children; Debbie Weaver and husband, Barry of Spruce Pine; Danny Ledford and wife, Elizabeth of Morganton; Ronnie Ledford and wife, Janet of Burnsville; Alan Ledford and wife, Kathy of Bakersville; Diane Bowman and husband, Quinton of Nebo; Lisa Tipton of Spruce Pine; and Joey Ledford and wife, Sheila of Forest City; twenty-one grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Juanita Ledford on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with Rev. Holt Whitson officiating. Interment will follow in the First Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
