Mindie Wise

Mindie Hughes Wise, age 87, of Henson Creek Road in Newland died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at her home.Born on November 23, 1927 in the Roaring Creek community of Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Tilda McKinney Hughes. She preceded in death by her husband, Lee Wise. She was also preceded in death by her sons; Ralph and Bruce Wise; her daughter; Bonnie Wise; her brothers; Loy, Linnie, John, and Virgus Hughes; and her sisters; Sarah Hughes and Vertie Wise.Mindie loved her flowers and working in them, she enjoyed watching birds, and being a homemaker.Left to cherish her memories are daughters; Jean W. English and husband, Danny of Newland; Kathy W. Bennett and husband, Mack of Newland, and Glenda Wise of Newland; her son; Roger Wise and wife, Sheila of Newland; her grandchildren; Priscilla, Christy, Angie, Beverly, and Bobby, and five great grandchildren.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Mindie Wise will be on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 7:00 pm at the Burleson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Buchanan officiating. Interment will be in the Pitman Cemetery.
