Marvin Paul ‘Pete’ Jarrett, age 77, of Jarrett Farm Road in Bakersville, the Rebels Creek community, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at his home.Born on April 12, 1939 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Dan and Georgia Boone Jarrett. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marnita Hensley and a sister-in-law, Shelba Harris.Pete was a member of the Rebels Creek Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was also a member of Vesper Lodge #554 A.F. & A.M. He was the owner of Mountaineer Hardscapes and Landscapes. He was a collector of Corvettes and enjoyed diving them and was a car show enthusiast.Left to cherish his memories are his wife of fifty-five years; Faye Ledford Jarrett of Bakersville; his daughter; Rhonda Allen of Bakersville; his sisters; Rita Stamey and husband, Douglas of Forest City; Peggy Teague and husband, Doug of Clemmons, NC; and Janie Hill and husband, Donnie of Roanoke, VA; his brothers-in-law; Hazen Ledford, Jr. of Bakersville and Mike Ledford of Burnsville; his grandchildren; Cortnie Hensley, Hazen Daniel Hensley, Zoe Allen, and Georgia Freeman; and his great grandchildren; Whitney, MacKenzie, Kylie, and Kadence Carpenter.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Pete Jarrett on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev’s. Shane Cassida, and Paul Silver officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 1:00 pm until the service hour in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Rebels Creek Cemetery with masonic graveside rites by Vesper Lodge #554 A.F. & A.M.Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to A.L.S.
