Phillip Geouge

Phillip Wayne Geouge, age 73, of Pitman Road in Bakersville died Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the McDowell Hospital in Marion.Born on May 11, 1941 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Jack and Ann Pitman Geouge. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Geouge who passed away in July of 2014. He was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church. He had been employed by Carolina Tire Company, Sears, and until recently The Quick Mart in Bakersville. He was a huge University of North Carolina Tar Heel fan.Left to cherish his memories are his step sons; Harold Van Grindstaff and wife, Sissy of Marion; James Hallsted of Clearwater, FL and Dale Hallsted of Tampa, FL; his step daughter; Kristy Griggs and husband, Randy of Burnsville; his step grandchildren; Heaven Friesland and husband, Randy, Samual and Sarah Grindstaff, A.J. and Kaeleigh Griggs, and Jordan and Jake Hallsted; and his uncle; Bill Geouge of Burnsville .The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Phillip Geouge at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 7, 2014 in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Rathbone officiating. Interment will follow at the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
