Rose Young

Rose Cox Young, age 74, of McKinney Mine Road in Spruce Pine died Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital of Spruce Pine. She was born on April 8, 1939 in Caldwell County and was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Maudie Pope Cox. She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Cox. Rose attended Sullins Branch Baptist Church. She was very devoted to spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose Young leaves behind her husband; Billy Young of the home, daughters; Julie Phillips and husband Herman of Conover, NC, Sharon Burleson and husband Jimmy, of Bakersville, Tina Hollifield and husband Steve, and Angie Dolan all of Spruce Pine, grandchildren; Adam Grindstaff, Alex Hollifield, Josh Phillips, Amy Hollifield, Luke Trivette, Brook Trivette, nine great grandchildren, sisters; Minnie Mae Wood and Ginger Miller, both of Lenoir, NC The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Rose Young at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 24, 2012 at Sullins Branch Baptist Church with Rev’s Ken Jenkins and John McKinney officiating. A time to receive friends and share memories and support the family will be from 1:00 pm until the service begins. Interment will follow the service in the Burnette Cemetery.
