Scarlett Denise Holtsclaw Dale, age 60, of Rock House Creek Road in Spruce Pine died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family.Born on April 23, 1955 in McDowell County, NC, she was the daughter of A.G. and Juanita “Anita” Cook Holtsclaw. She was preceded in death by all her grandparents and her father in law; John Dale. Scarlett was of the Baptist faith and a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church. She loved to garden and work with her flowers. She also took classes and was certified as a Master Food Preserver.Left to cherish her memories are her husband of forty years; Norman Dale of Spruce Pine; her parents; A.G. and Juanita Holtsclaw of Spruce Pine; her sons; Aaron Dale and wife Janet and Jason Dale and fiancée Maria McGee, all of Spruce Pine, her daughter; Denise Self and husband Gene of Little Switzerland, sisters; Cheryl Dale of Spruce Pine and Sandra Wheeler and husband Nate of Burnsville, grandsons; Austyn, Tanner, and Daniel, granddaughters; Lyndsie, Laurel and Jacey, and her mother in law; Jean Dale of Spruce Pine.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Scarlett Dale on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 6:00 pm at the Grassy Creek Baptist Church with Gene Self Jr. and Matt Mills officiating. Interment will follow in the Grassy Creek Memorial Cemetery.
