Tommy Carroll Thomas, age 79, of Sunshine Hill Apartments in Spruce Pine, died Monday, March 19, 2018.Born on October 29, 1938 in Yancey County, he was the son of the late Claude and Ruby Presnell Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother; Clarence Walker Thomas and his sisters; Donna Gardner and Sharon Deyton. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.Left to cherish his memories are his son; Scott Thomas and wife, Pat of Burnsville; his grandsons; Aaron Thomas and wife, Katie of Starkville, MS and Seth Thomas of Burnsville; special niece; ‘Tiny’ Janet Sparks and husband, Ken of Spruce Pine and many nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service celebrating the life of Tommy Thomas on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 2 pm at the Newdale Presbyterian Church with the Rev’s. Randy Laws and Bruce Cannon officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church.
