Virginia ‘Jenny’ Cook, age 75, of Biggerstaff Road in Spruce Pine died Saturday, February, 24, 2018 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.Born on June 26, 1942 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Paul William and Frankie Holder Huskins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Cook who passed away in 2010.Jenny was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and western books. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles, flat board dancing, her dogs, and socializing with her friends.Left to cherish her memories are her brother; Roger Wayne and Susan Huskins of Penland; her nephew; Dillon Huskins of Penland; her niece; Koren H. Gillespie and husband, Travis of Boone; her great niece; Emery Gillespie; and her special friends; Louise and Keith Renfro, Kay Freeman, and Ann Haney.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service celebrating the life of Jenny Cook on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Toby Crowder officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church. Interment will follow in the Mt.
