View Video Tribute David Lewis Waycaster, age 57, of Rhyne Drive in Spruce Pine died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Brian Center in Spruce Pine. Born on May 12, 1953 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Lewis Waycaster and Margaret McKinney Waycaster. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Robinson and his maternal grandmother, Agnes McKinney. David Waycaster was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors, riding horses and motorcycles, and playing golf. Left to cherish his memories are his mother; Margaret M. Waycaster of Spruce Pine; a daughter; Bobbi Jo Carpenter of Spruce Pine; a son; Adam York and wife, Brandi of Marion; a brother; Paul Waycaster and wife, Sondra of Spruce Pine; a sister; Elizabeth Wise and husband, Gene of Spruce Pine; brother-in-law; Roger Robinson of Newton, NC; four grandchildren; Meredith Carpenter, Heather Carpenter, Justin Carpenter, and Kasey York; and an aunt; Ruth Fox. Funeral services for Mr. Waycaster will be conducted on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Berry Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Berry Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the service hour at the church. Adam, I am so sorry for your loss brother. I hope and pray that God gives you the strength you need to help you through this very difficult time. If you as a person are a reflection of your father, I can honestly say he was an exceptional man and father for he raised a remarkable son who myself and so many think very highly of. Margaret and the rest of family, we are so sorry for the loss of David. He was a good man and a good friend and neighbor.
