Anna Belle Frye

Anna Belle Frye, age 91, of Bear Creek Church Road in Bakersville, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine.Born on October 15, 1924 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Clarence Buchanan and Rettia Pitman Buchanan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Frye. She was also preceded in death by her previous husband, George Turbyfill; her son; Wayne Ward; a grandson; Tim Ward; a brother; Lewis Buchanan; and her sisters; Ruth Pitman and Delina Grindstaff.Anna Belle was a lifelong member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church and she sang in the church choir, loved her church and church family. She was retired from Baxter’s Healthcare. She loved to laugh, make people laugh, and tell jokes. She loved flowers and cats.Left to cherish her memories are her sisters; Dorothy Pressnell of Bakersville and Mattie Lee Silvers of Randleman, NC; her daughter-in-law; Barbara Ward of Spruce Pine; her grandsons; Allen Ward and Andy Ward; her granddaughter; Mary Johnson; special niece; Susie Stafford; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Anna Belle Frye on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 3:30 pm at the Bear Creek Baptist Church with the Rev’s Bruce Cannon and Chris Rathbone officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 2:30 pm until the service hour at the church.
