Arthur 'Hugh' Bailey, age 81, formerly of the Three Mile community, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 at his home in Asheville.Born on January 4, 1940 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Charles and Lucille Chandler Bailey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cherrie Lynn Bailey; his son, Charles Randy Bailey; and his son-in-law, Kee Byrd.Hugh was a member of the Henson Creek Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard. He was a retired truck driver and he enjoyed driving his truck. He also enjoyed singing at church. He was a fan of Nascar Racing, the U.N.C. Tar Heels and Carolina Panthers.Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Jane Wiseman Bailey of the home; his daughters; Robin Bailey of Forest City, NC; Regina Byrd of Marion; Rhonda Morris and husband, Robert of Marion; and Katrinka Bailey of Marion; his grandchildren; Nathan, Daitra and husband, Jacob, Dabriana, Tyler, and Colt; and five great grandchildren.A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 14, 2021 in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Carver, Jr. officiating.
