- Now present with the Lord, the body of Barbara Dillingham Mousaw, age 81, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018.Mrs. Mousaw was born July 25, 1936, in Barnardsville, Buncombe County, NC. She was an Honors graduate and Salutatorian of Swannanoa High School, Swannanoa, NC and attended Montreat College, Montreat, NC. After moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1960, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Education at Arizona State University, going on to teach high school Home Economics, English, and later home bound students, in the Phoenix Union and Balsz School Districts.A born-again Christian who loved the Lord, Barbara was active in her church and a devoted Prayer Warrior who loved and cherished her children, grandchildren, family, many friends, and her beloved little dog, Tahoe. She enjoyed reading, cooking, homemaking, the warm sun and climate of Phoenix, and travel with family, including beach vacations to the Outer Banks, a dream trip to Alaska with her sister, Rita, and family, and returning home to her beloved mountains of western NC.She is preceded in death by her parents, Lyman Dillingham and Zertha Banks Dillingham. Surviving are her daughter, Deborah Robinson and son-in-law, David Robinson, M.D., of Washington, IN and Spruce Pine, NC; sons, Neal Fulk of Mayer, AZ, and David Mousaw, of North Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Brittany Fulk of Phoenix, AZ, (also a teacher who followed in her grandmother's footsteps); Gage Mousaw of North Las Vegas, NV, and Morgan Pierce of Pueblo, CO; brothers, Gary Dillingham, Ronald Dillingham and sister-in-law, Lavon Dillingham, Leo Dillingham and sister-in-law Lora Dillingham; sisters, Rita Moulton and brother-in-law, Richard "Smokey" Moulton, and Susie Enloe; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 15, 2018, at John F. Dillingham Cemetery, Houston Rd. in Barnardsville, with Rev. David Plemmons officiating. Special music will be provided by her nephews, Lawrence Dillingham and Michael Dillingham.
