Barbara J. Sparks

Barbara J. Sparks, age 78 of Spruce Pine went peacefully Friday, February 18, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Mitchell County, NC she was a daughter of the late Rev. Ernest and Texie Buchanan Jones. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Sparks, an infant son, brothers; Woodrow and Phillip Jones and sisters; Essie Lee McKinney and Rita Jones.Barbara was known for her beautiful smile, flowers and her green thumb. She was a caregiver for much of her family she was a people person, enjoyed checking on neighbors and visiting and was a wonderful daughter, wife, sister and aunt.Left to cherish her memories is her brother Junior “JJ” Jones and wife Sherry and her brother in law Larry Sparks and wife Carolyn. She is also survived by seven nieces and three nephews whom she loved like her own children.A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be Tuesday, February, 22 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Chris Renfro officiating.
