Bobby Teague, age 72, of George McKinney Circle in Spruce Pine, the Halltown community died Sunday, October 4, 2020 at his home.Born on April 5, 1948 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Herbert and JoAnn Smith Teague. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law; David C. McKinney.Bobby was a 1966 graduate of Harris High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army with two years of service where he served as a para trooper and a parachute rigger for the 82nd Air Borne Division. He was retired after forty years of service as a mechanic at Baxters Healthcare. Bobby was a gifted mechanic that took a lot of pride in his work. He enjoyed working with his tractor, cutting and splitting wood. He loved children and animals. He was a warm and kind hearted person that was a friend to all.Left to cherish his memories are his wife of forty-two years; Rebecca ‘Becky’ McKinney Teague of the home; his son; Charlie Teague and wife, Debra of Auburn, AL; his grandchildren; Grayson and Bethany Teague of Auburn, AL; his sister; Rita Teague of Leland, NC; special brothers-in-law; Daniel McKinney and wife, Susie of Spruce Pine and Mike McKinney and wife, Vanessa of Maggie Valley; special sisters-in-law; Julia McKinney of Hickory and Louise McKinney of Spruce Pine; special nieces; Haley Gowdy of Boone, Kylie McKinney and Martha Williams both of Marion; special great nephew and great niece; Eli ‘Leroy’ Gowdy and Emily Gowdy of Boone; multiple other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Grassy Creek Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Grassy Creek Presbyterian Church with the Rev’s. Jim Taylor and John Hall officiating.
