Boyd Biddix

Boyd Biddix, age 77, of June Bug Hollow in Spruce Pine passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at his home.Born on January 1, 1940 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Robert ‘Bob’ and Mamie Buchanan Biddix. Boyd was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church. He was retired from Baxter Health Care with twenty-eight years of service. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed singing at many local nursing homes. He was also a loving father that loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed the companionship of his dog, Lady.Boyd was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years; Madge Wilcox Biddix who passed away in 2010. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter; CeJay Biddix Glenn; his brothers; Bill Buchanan, Robert, Jr., Rufus, Harold, Leonard, Walter, and Arthur Biddix and his sisters; Mary Lee Sparks and Geneva Carpenter.Left to cherish his memories are his son; Clint Biddix and wife, Wanda; his daughters; Donna Biddix and Jenny McFarland; his foster daughter; Paula Norman all of Spruce Pine; his grandchildren; Craig Biddix and wife, Jessica of Goldsboro, NC; Cameron Biddix of Cheyenne, WY; Damien McFarland of Burnsville; Brittany McFarland of Spruce Pine; grandson-in-law; Kyle Glenn of Goldsboro, NC; great grandchildren; Kelbi Wheeler, Kellen and Kamdyn Glenn, Brooklyn and Lucas Biddix, and Kynli McFarland; children that he loved as his own; Donna Burleson and husband, Randy; Tony Heath, and Jimi Moore.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life Boyd Biddix on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 3:00 pm at the Berry Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev’s Steve Williams, Greg Hollifield, and David Wilcox officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home.
