Carlos Summerlin

November 5, 1944 - February 8, 2021

Carlos E. Summerlin, age 76, of Galax Trail in Spruce Pine, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville. Born on November 4, 1944 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he was the son of the late Forest ‘Buddy’ and Angela China Calsina Summerlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; William ‘Bill’ and Junior Summerlin. Carlos was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the St. Lucien Catholic Church. He was retired from Henredon Furniture and was an interpreter for the Spanish community, he also enjoyed older movies. Left to cherish his memories are his nephews; Billy and Kenny Summerlin both of Burnsville; his niece; Billy Jo Townsend of Spruce Pine; nephew; Jarod Summerlin; very special friend; Irene Boudreau; numerous cousins and his fur baby; Jasmine. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Spruce Pine Memorial Cemetery.
