Charles L. ‘Charlie’ Allen, Jr., age 64, of Wagon Master Trailer Park in Spruce Pine, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Brian Center Health & Rehab in Spruce Pine.A native of Yancey County, he was born on March 9, 1954 and was the son of the late Benjamin Lambert and Wanda Allen Street. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Jerry Dean Allen; a sister; Teresa Allen; and a son; Charles Gregory Allen.Charlie loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, mechanicing, and softball.Left to cherish his memories are his wife of thirty-nine years; Kathy Henson Allen of Spruce Pine; his sons; Jeremy Allen of Spruce Pine; Michael Byrd of Tennessee, and James Byrd of Virginia; his sisters; Linda Allen of Spruce Pine; Lesa Ledbetter of Rutherfordton; and Tammy Street of Spruce Pine; his brothers; Ray Allen and Gary Allen both of Spruce Pine; Gregory Street of Newland and Keith Street of South Carolina; his brothers-in-law; Robert Sydney Henson and wife, Debbie of Spruce Pine and Stanley Dean Henson and wife, Rita of Marion; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the memorial service honoring the life of Charlie Allen on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home.
