Dave Dellinger Jr. “June”, age 89 of US 19-E in Newland, the Spear Community, met his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 4th 2022 at the Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.He was proceeded in death by his parents, Dave Sr and Mable Saylor Dellinger, sisters Dorothy Pitman and Margaret Pyatte, brothers Clay Dellinger and TJ Dellinger, son Danny Dellinger, granddaughter Betsy Dellinger, and great-granddaughter Isabella Carver.He leaves behind wife of 68 years Helen Dellinger of the home; sisters Virlee Freeman, Pansy Hicks, Jean Hollifield; half-sister Robin Austin; sons Dean Dellinger (Renee), Kenneth Dellinger (Pam), Jeffery Hughes (Ellen); daughters Diana Watson (Steve), Doris Buchanan (Donnie), Kathy Trice (Bill), and Janet Stockton (Jody); 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.He was an accomplished bluegrass fiddle player and musician. June loved spending time outdoors and had a gift of growing anything. He was an excellent heavy equipment operator and could outwork most young men even up until the time he passed. He loved attending Crab Orchard Freewill Baptist Church and his church family. June also loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.A Memorial will be held on Monday March 7th at Burleson’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church on Henson Creek.
