David H. Hall

David H. Hall, age 91, of Hall Town Road in Spruce Pine, died Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.Born on June 24, 1925 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late James G. and Mary Alice Thompson Hall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lee McGee Hall and his second wife Elaine Harris Hall. He was also preceded in death by his sister; Joyce H. Wells and his brothers; Patrick Hall and James G. Hall, Jr.David was a member of the Grassy Creek Baptist Church and had served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He loved reading the Bible and watching western movies. He enjoyed bear hunting, collecting coins and he was an avid Tar Heel fan.Left to cherish his memories are his son; Danny Hall and wife, Cathy of Spruce Pine; his granddaughters; Tiffany Venton and husband, Robert of Leavenworth, KS and Tonia Wilson and husband, Brian of Burnsville; his grandson; Christopher Hall and wife, Ashley of Raleigh; and his great grandchildren; Loren, Ethan, and Peyton Venton and Raylan Wilson.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of David Hall on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 6:30 pm at the Grassy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev’s Kenneth Forbes, Ralph Crass, and Gene Self officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 5:30 pm until the service hour at the church.
