Ernie Amodio, age 70, of Spruce Pine, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at his home. A native of Columbus, OH, he was the son of the late Pete and Virginia Miles Amodio. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters; Victoria Burleson (TJ), Mary Tackatt (Johnny), Pauline Sanders (Paul), Geraldine Williams, Betty Janny (Arnold), and Millie Price; his brothers; Willie Amodio, Billie Amodio, Mack Amodio (Mae), Pete Amodio (Ruby), and William Amodio (Marie); sister-in-law; Donna Harrison and brothers-in-law; Don Newsome and Jay Willis. Ernie was retired from Baxter Healthcare after twenty-three years of service. He was an avid fan of Shelby Valley High School sports in Kentucky. He dearly loved his wife and family. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of fourteen years; Marquita Harrison Amodio of the home; his sister; Jacquline Newsome of Kentucky; stepson; John Willis and fiancé, Chesnee of Spruce Pine; step grandchildren; Mason Miller and Aubree Willis; sister-in-law; Juanita Willis of Spruce Pine; and brothers-in-law; James Harrison of Arbuckle, Kenny Harrison and wife, Sue of Lower Browns Creek and Mark Harrison and wife, Donna of Blue Rock; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Ernie Amodio on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 2:30 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Bennett officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 1:30 pm until the service hour in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Big Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Webb Funeral Home, 128 Roan Road, Spruce Pine, NC 28777 to assist with expenses.
