Fred was one of a kind gentleman. I worked with him many years at PYA/Monarch and will always remember his kindness, bowtie and that cherry tobacco from his pipe.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

I loved Fred and will remember him for the rest of my life.
His keen sense of humor about everything except motor cycles and poker losses.
His never ending love for exploring, be it with Banditos in Mexico, flaunting it in Cuba, or relocating the Over Mountain Overmountain Trail to where it belongs beneath the Orchard. He helped build the Little Switzerland Fire Station. He knew more about history especially S.C. history than anyone I ran across. He was a good friend, but had a long memory if you somehow got on his fighting side.
And like many of us it was good fortune or just plain Luck that he married above himself to such a delightful and caring wife! Yes I knew Fred and will always hold him dear.
