Glenn R. Thompson

Glenn Ray Thompson, age 84, of Thompson Road in Spruce Pine, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.Born on September 28, 1937 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Bruce and Grace Carpenter Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son; Harold Van Thompson; his daughter; Beverly Thompson; his brothers; Johnny and Harry Thompson; and his sisters; Frances Wilson and Carolyn Medford.Glenn was a member of the Pine Branch Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Thompson Landscaping in Spruce Pine for many years. He enjoyed working and creating beautiful landscaping projects that the people he worked for liked when his work was finished.Left to cherish his memory is his daughters; Cynthia Thompson of Spruce Pine and Pam Blevins of Burnsville; his son; Darren Thompson of Burnsville; his grandson; Tyler Thompson of Burnsville; several nieces and nephews.Graveside services and interment will be on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 6:00 pm in the Pine Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev’s. Bobby Joe Greene and Steve Williams officiating.
