Grace Buchanan

Grace Buchanan, age 83, of Spruce Pine, died Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Brian Center Health & Rehab in Spruce Pine.Born on November 24, 1935 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Cartha Burleson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Junior Ray Buchanan; her sister, Anna Faye Biddix; her brother, Billy Joe Burleson; and her special friend, Wayne Cooke.Grace was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church. She loved her grandchildren and was a people person and she also enjoyed working with the public.Left to cherish her memories are her sons; Rocky Buchanan and wife, Janet of Spruce Pine and Duane Buchanan of Vista, CA; her daughter, Teena Gardner and husband, Melvin of Spruce Pine; her sister, Shirley Conley of Spruce Pine; her brothers; Bobby Lee Burleson and wife, Martha of Spruce Pine; Tommy Burleson and wife, Kathy of Charlotte; and Danny Burleson and wife, Susan of Spruce Pine, there are six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the graveside service for Grace Buchanan on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 3:30 pm at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.In addition to the local services, an additional memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the North Coast Church in Vista, Ca, where Mrs. Buchanan has family and loved ones.
