John Lowery

John Solomon Lowery, age 81, of Spruce Pine, died Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his residence.Born on August 5, 1937 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Ed and Elizabeth Franklin Lowery. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters, a son; Keith Murphy and a son in law; Wadie Willis.John was a member of the Altapass Church of God. He loved to fish and riding on his lawn mower. He was also very passionate about watching football.Left to cherish his memories are his daughters; Angie Corbin and husband Russell of Burnsville, Billy Jo Phillips and husband Clay of Burnsville, and Loretta Willis of Spruce Pine, a son; Michael Lowery of Spruce Pine, grandchildren; Tommy Willis, Coty Phillips, Tiffany Edwards, Kacey Byrd, Justin Lowery and Brittney Lowery, and three great grandchildren.A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 2:30 pm until 3:30 pm at the Altapass Church of God. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for John Lowery on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 3:30 pm at the Altapass Church of God with the Rev. Steve Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt.
