Joy Williams, age 66, of Hattie Williams Road in Spruce Pine, died Monday, April 23, 2018 Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.Born on August 20, 1951 in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Martha Louise Smith Burleson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Williams who passed away in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her brother; Rudy Burleson and her sister; Jill Biddix.Joy was the glue for her family. She gave selflessly of herself and was always thinking of others instead of herself. She had lots of love to give and her family will miss her dearly. She was a happy person and was always smiling. Her life revolved around her nephew, Jamie Burleson and his children; Emily, Cody, and Michael.Left to cherish her memories are her brothers; Morris Burleson and wife, Judy of Bakersville and Scott Burleson of Bakersville; her sisters; Kay Goble of Gastonia; Barbara McClellan and husband, Doug of Newland; and Naomi Gilbert of Lenoir; special nephew; Jamie Burleson and his children; Emily, Cody, and Michael; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Joy Williams on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 5:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Wise officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Joy loved her family I stayed with joy’s mom on capps job. They was a very loving family and she will be missed. She always smiled and enjoyed life. She was very good to me when I stayed in her home.
