Katy Beam

Katy Rebecca Beam, age 80, of Sunshine Hill Apartments in Spruce Pine, died Friday, April 26, 2019 at Brian Center Health & Rehab in Spruce Pine.Born on September 25, 1938 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Melvin Beam and Pearl Beam Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Beam; her sister, Nancy Pendley; her half-brothers; Parker and Ralph Beam and James Vaughn; and her half-sister, Laura Hicks.Left to cherish her memories are her sisters; Betty Denton of Brevard, Mildred Huskins and Martha Biddix both of Spruce Pine; her sisters-in-law; Ida Beam and Wilma Beam both of Spruce Pine; several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 5:00 pm at the Temple Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Rupard officiating.
