Kay Grindstaff, age 51, of Spruce Pine, died Thursday, January 23, 2020 at her home.Born on June 17, 1968 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ilene Buchanan Phillips.Kay was a loving person and loved helping others. She encouraged her niece, Brandy and great nephew, Devin to follow their dreams. She also loved working in her flowers, animals and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of the Silver Chapel Baptist Church and played the piano there many years ago. She was formerly employed by Centura Bank of Spruce Pine.Left to cherish her memories are her husband of eighteen years; Mike Grindstaff of Spruce Pine; her brother; Michael Phillips and wife, Rita of Spruce Pine; her niece; Brandy Phillips of Spruce Pine; and her great nephew; Devin Randolph of Spruce Pine.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Kay Grindstaff on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be Monday, January 27, 2020 from 1:00 pm until the service hour in the funeral home chapel.
