Leona ‘Estie’ McClellan, age 85, of U.S. Hwy. 70-East in Marion, formerly of Avery County, died Friday, August 7, 2020 at her home. Born on October 29, 1934 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Obie and Margaret Ethel Wiseman McClellan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters; Donna Chappel, June McClellan and Sue McClellan; her step sister; Barbara Isaacs; her step brother; John Wiseman; and her children; Judy Brittain, Julius Ingram, Linda Ingram; John Ingram, Jeff Ingram, and Jason ‘Bug’ Ingram. Leona was a member of the Coxes Creek Freewill Baptist Church, she loved the Lord, sharing and talking about him, and was an inspirational person. She was known as a strong willed and determined person. She loved working in her flowers, her garden and canning all kinds of fruits, vegetables, jams, and jellies. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and singing. To all of her family, she was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Left to cherish her memories are her children; Jack Ingram and wife, Lois of Newland; James Ingram, Lambert Ingram, Leonard Ingram, and Lisa Ingram and fiancé, Shelby Edwards all of Marion and Janet McPeters and husband, Donald of Morganton; her sisters; Ann Maney and husband, Louie of Marion; Pam Carswell and husband, Howard of Morganton and Ruby Tyree of Newland; her brother; Jack McClellan and wife, Pat of Marion; her step sisters; Becky Weaver, Terry McClellan and Rose Justice all of Morganton; her step brothers; Mike McClellan of Morganton; Tony Wiseman and Jim Wiseman both of Newland; and Phillip Wiseman of St. Louis, MO; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be on Monday, August 10, 2020 from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm at Webb Funeral Home. The graveside service will be on Monday, August 10, 2020 immediately following the visitation at the Ingram Cemetery with the Rev. John Crowder officiating. Interment will follow in the graveside service in the Ingram Cemetery. Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve.
