Lovie Odessa Medley, age 87, of Quarry Road in Pineola, died Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Life Care of Banner Elk.Born on October 12, 1929 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Lizzie Lowery. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her husband, David Medley who passed away in 1978. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Florence Wise Medley and a brother, Elmore Wise.Lovie will be remembered as a Christian lady that loved her family and grandchildren. She liked to go shopping, paying her bills on her own, and eating out. She enjoyed watching birds and squirrels, sending cards to family members and friends, and going to the beach.Left to cherish her memories are daughter; Betty Filler and husband, Joe of Jonesborough, TN; her sons; Norris Medley and wife, Mary Lou of Pineola and Jerry Lee Wise and wife, Nancy of Johnson City, TN; her grandchildren; Randy Medley, Teresa Hester, Mary Phillips, and Dawn Carter; her great grandchildren; Peyton, Chris, Patricia, Renee, Haley, and Skylar; and her great- great grandchildren; Lydia, Harrison, and Lexie.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Lovie Medley on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 1:30 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with the Rev. David Dugger officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 12:00 noon until the service hour in the funeral home chapel.
