In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Houston “Hugh” Bailey, who passed away in 2021.Mary was a longtime active member of the Henson Creek Baptist Church. She was very well known for her tax and accounting work as well as her time she had spent working the voting poles for thirty plus years. Helping-out the community in any way she could was important to her. She enjoyed being a lady and looking like a lady. Anytime she went out she needed her nails, her hair and lips just perfect. She also loved working in her flowers, being outdoors for picnic and family gatherings, listening to gospel music and attending gospel music concerts. Along with her husband, she enjoyed traveling on many gospel quartet trips as well as the trips to the beach.Left to cherish her memory is her many wonderful friends and neighbors as well as numerous cousins ranging from Pennsylvania to Florida.A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The funeral service will be in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Earl Carver, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery.The service will be live streamed for those who are unable to attend.The family would like to extend a “Special Thank You” to Brian Blanton, Roberta Thomas, and Lois Ingram for their care of Mary.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to; Wounded Warriors Project. www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donateWords of comfort may be e-mailed to the family by going to our website; www.webbfh.com, selecting Mary Bailey’s name and then you may sign her guestbook. I had known Mary Jane for a long time. Wee shared the same Àunt Lola and was friends wh3n we both attended Blanton's Business College at Asheville. Always was very close to her as a friend. Sorry to here of her passing. Family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
