Michael Ray Sparks

Michael Ray Sparks, age 69, of Burnsville died Sunday, July 2, 2017 at his residence after a lengthy illness.Born on October 6, 1947 in McDowell County, he was the son of the late Louis Ray and Leona Davis Sparks. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his good friend; Guy Winters. Michael worked in many jobs for many of the Manufacturing Industries in the area. Mike enjoyed fishing, watching westerns on TV and having family dinners with his family.Left to cherish his memories are his wife of forty-five years; Martha Styles Sparks of Burnsville, his son; Victor Sparks and wife April of Spruce Pine, his daughter; Lore Deel and husband James of South Carolina, his grandchildren; Scotty and Emily Sparks, Cody and Dusty Hicks and Levi Deel, and his great-grandchildren; Urijah and Ryder Hicks.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Michael Sparks on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 6:00 pm at the Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Arthur Buchanan and Cephas Renfro officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 5:00 pm until the service hour at the church.
