Morris A. ‘Junior’ McKinney, age 55, of Spruce Pine died Monday, August 21, 2017 at his home. Born on July 26, 1962 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Morris A. McKinney, Sr. and Betty Stevens McKinney. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter; Jennifer Nicole McKinney. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine.Junior enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and particularly his daughter. He also enjoyed learning about history, the Civil War, and World War II. He liked fishing, hunting, and Nascar Racing.Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Cynthia McKinney of Spruce Pine, his daughter; Jessica Renee McKinney of Spruce Pine; his sisters; Gloria Kay Rowe of Bakersville and Terry ‘Tiny’ McKinney of Spruce Pine; his brother; Teddy Joe McKinney of Spruce Pine; very special friend; Bob Forbes; and several nieces and nephews.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Junior McKinney on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Blue Rock Baptist Church with the Rev’s Kenneth Forbes and Mike Thomas officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home.
