Nora Lee Duncan

Nora Lee Greene Duncan, age 84, of Duncan Loop in Bakersville, the Ledger community, died Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Brian Center Health and Rehab in Spruce Pine.Born on October 18, 1933 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Belle Buchanan Greene. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Duncan who passed away in 2002. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Morris Greene.Nora Lee was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church and sang in the church choir. She loved her church, church family and the ministers that served as her pastor. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, working in her flowers and gardening.Left to cherish her memories are daughters; Lou Ellen Rathburn and Darlene Greene and husband, Gary of Bakersville; her son; Johnny Duncan and wife, Yevonne of Bakersville; her sister; Sue Greene Rawls of Louisville, OH; there are six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Nora Lee Duncan on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 4:00 pm at the Bear Creek Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Bruce Cannon, Chris Rathbone, and Brent Duncan officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the church.
