Pauline Burleson Calloway, age 48, of Big Plumtree Creek in Newland, passed away of natural causes on March 11, 2021 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.Born on February 20, 1973 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Francis Burleson. Pauline was a member of the Big Meadows Baptist Church for years. She loved flowers and being outside in nature. She loved to read and loved her special pet turtle “Franklin”.Left to cherish her memories are her husband; Jimmy Calloway of the home, her daughter; Donna Cordell and husband, Timothy of Spear, the son she never had; Joe Calloway and fiancé, Kylee with their son; David of Newland, a sister; Donna Astello and husband, Jose of Spear, a special mother in law; Dora Calloway, and many special nieces, nephews and cousins whom she dearly loved every one.A time to support the family, share memories, and receive friends will be on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Big Meadows Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Big Meadows Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Russell officiating. Interment will be in the Big Meadows Baptist Church Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Webb Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve. Donna, I know that this is a difficult time for you. I wish I had words to make it easier. Our consolation is knowing that we can be together again in a place where there will be no more sickness, or sorrow. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I love you.
