Stoney Wade Patterson, age 35, of Spruce Pine, formerly of Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Memorial Campus of Mission hospitals in Asheville following a period of declining health.Born on January 5, 1984 in Vernon, TX, he was the son of Scott and Dana Studdard Patterson. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Ben Studdard and Wilma Morlan and his paternal grandparents; C.W. and Benevee Patterson.Stoney was a member of the Ark of W.N.C. and a member of their media team. He enjoyed working with his hands and working on computers and jewelry, among other things. He got great enjoyment in repairing things for others. He also enjoyed being in nature and hunting. He was a charter member of the Toe River Coin Club and also a charter member of the Marion Coin Club.Left to cherish his memories are his wife of thirteen years; Elizabeth Carpenter Patterson of the home; his parents; Scott W. and Dana Patterson of Las Animas, CO; his brothers; Dusty Patterson and wife, Candice of Electra, TX and Heath Patterson and wife, Tabatha of Harrold, TX; his nieces and nephews; Skylerr, Starrla, Trevor, and Raiden; his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Steve and Susie Carpenter of Spruce Pine; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Vanessa and Dave Hawes of Lumberton, NC and special frien; Judy Meister of La Junta, CO.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Stoney Paterson on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 am at The Ark of W.N.C. with Mike Thomas and Rev. Dave Hawes officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home.
