Bill Willis

Bill Willis, age 87, of Robinson Road in Newton, died Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.Born on August 31, 1932 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Grover and Dollie Dale Willis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Willis.Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church. He played football for the Bowman High School Bulldogs football team and had a career highlight of scoring six touchdowns against then arch rival, Harris High School. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Left to cherish his memories are his sons; Danny Willis and wife, Wanda of Morganton and Alan Willis and wife, Wendy of Piedmont, SC; his grandchildren; Travis Willis and wife, Lisa of Rogers, AK and Rebekah Clerment and husband, Thierry of Moon, PA; his great grandchildren; Danielle, Luke, Reagen, Ariel, and Alex; his stepsons; Kenneth and Freddie; and his stepdaughters; Kathy and Debbie.A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Sunday, June 21, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Webb Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be at the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev.
