Christine Miller

Christine Miller, age 96, of the Red Hill community in Bakersville, died Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Brian Center Health & Rehab in Spruce Pine.Born on December 25, 1922 in Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late William and Martha Roberts Grindstaff. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Wait Miller who passed away in 1991. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Ed and Lawrence Grindstaff; her half-brother; Arvil Grindstaff; and her sisters; Pansy McIntire, Edith Ollis, Ella Hoilman and Myrtle Garland.Christine attended the Covey Rock Baptist Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and working in her flowers.Left to cherish her memories are her daughter; Mildred Pittman of Bakersville; her son; Marvin Miller and wife, Mary of Bluff City, TN; her grandchildren; Rickey Hollifield and wife, Otehia of Bakersville; Sherri Wilson and husband, Phillip of Spruce Pine; Rodney Hollifield and wife, Andrea of Roanoke, VA; Kevin Hollifield and wife, Donna of Spruce Pine and Mark Miller and wife, Amy of Piney Flats, TN; her great grandchildren; Eric, Jamie, Brian, Brady, Reagan, Nick, Emily, and Rebekah; seven great great grandchildren and her half-sister; Betty Grindstaff of Bakersville.The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service for Christine Miller on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home with Rev. Rickey Hollifield officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 6:00 pm until the service hour in the funeral home chapel.
